About the Temple

Cheriyath Mandola is situated on Choodikotta road is the eastern valley of Marunnara Kunnu (Present Hospital Hill). The temple encircles three sides Kerala and one side Mahe. The Annual Thira festival is on Kumbham 12, 13, and 14th. Normally on 24th 25th and 26th of February. The temple have 8 Thiras, Thanoolappan, Poothadi, Angakkaran, Cheriya Thamburatti (Madiyil Ponkurumala Bhagavathi), Valiya Thamburatti, Acheem Kttiyum (Thekkan Kariyathan), Cheriya Karanavar, Valiya Karanavar.

Theyyam

Cheriyath Mandola is renowned for hosting Theyyam performances, a vibrant and spiritual ritualistic dance native to Kerala. These performances, often held during festivals, form a vital part of the temple’s religious events, drawing devotees from near and far. The temple’s annual Thira festival is celebrated on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of Kumbham (normally falling on 24th, 25th, and 26th February). This grand celebration features eight Thiras (ritual performances),
